Best Buy Tech Bites in King of Prussia

By July 10, 2010 Events No Comments

Earlier this summer Kelly Whalen and Julie Pron of Just Centsible invited the PSMM bloggers to gather at Seasons 52 in King of Prussia. Best Buy hosted the event and we were there to learn more about the company and to get a heads up about the upcoming Tech-Bites event at the King of Prussia Best Buy location later in the month.

Seasons 52 wined us and dined us, with a delicious assortment of their custom flatbreads and mini indulgences. Yum!

OK, OK, I know the focus of the evening wasn’t just to indulge in delicious food and wine, but seriously people! Look at these pics I nabbed from the Seasons 52 website! Believe me when I say they tasted as good as they looked.

After some time to mingle and indulge, Kelly and Julie introduced us to the PR reps from Ketchum and the team from Best Buy. Representatives from Best Buy told us about their community relations programs and how Best Buy as a company encourages and supports their female employees in-store. I was very impressed by both initiatives. If I wasn’t already a fan of Best Buy hearing this would have sealed the deal.

We all left that evening excited to attend the upcoming Tech-Bites event. We all also left with a generous Best Buy gift card and a swag bag of goodies!

A little over a week later many of us were back in King of Prussia attending the Tech-Bites event at Best Buy with special guest Chef Anne from Seasons 52.

Chef Anne demonstrated how to make some delicious and easy seasonal dishes, including eggplant, salmon, and a tomato and avocado salad. Of course there was plenty to sample! Even my seven-year-old was digging in. And yes, he ate eggplant and two samples of the salmon. And then he gave me his desert. I love that kid!

There were more mini indulgences too! I can still taste that Old Fashioned Carrot Cake!

Seriously though, it wasn’t all about food. There were demonstrations all over the store, including how to get the most out of your camera, how to provide a fun and safe gaming experience for your kids, and demo’s of the new 3D TV technology. My husband and boys spent a lot of time watching the 3D TV’s. And I now have my eye on a new digital camera! I’m still trying to figure out how I can justify the kids eating mac ‘n cheese for the next month so I can afford it.

Oh wait, I almost forgot to mention there were prizes too! Lots of prizes! Including the grand prize of a new set of Frigidaire kitchen appliances (refrigerator, range, over-the-range microwave, and dishwasher)!

I know!

And they gave away two sets! One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Our own Joey Fortman and Sarah Bloom each won!

There were other great prizes too, including a digital camera, Best Buy gift cards and Seasons 52 gift cards. Thanks Best Buy, Ketchum and Just Centsible for a great day!
