Did you know that every day, 720 kids are diagnosed with childhood cancer? That is certainly a sobering statistic.

In our Philly Social Media Moms group, two of our children are cancer survivors, and this month we are joining the fight against childhood cancer by participating in the Million Mile Run with Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Many PSMM members have joined the Delaware Valley Bloggers team in honor of Lily & Maggie. We have committed to running 1,000 miles and raising $10,000 as a team during the month of September.

Would you join us???

There are a variety of ways to support this worthy cause.

Consider making a donation. Or better yet? Join our team! We’d love to have you!

You could also create your own Million Mile Run team!

If you aren’t familiar with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, here is a bit more about the organization.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope.

Research for childhood cancer is consistently underfunded, but with your support, we can make a difference!
